"Detroit Industry" - Detroit Institute of Arts ( Diego Rivera ) - View 1
![]() The D.I.A. originally opened on September 1, 1888 on Jefferson Ave. It moved to it's current location on Woodward Avenue in 1927.
The "Detroit Industry" artwork by Diego Rivera is widely accepted as a great representation of Detroit and it's blue collar approach to life, but it was not always this way. When they were originally unveiled in 1933, they were referred to by many local newspapers as a "travesty of art". I think it's brilliant. CommentsAkbar Simonse
