Abandoned Packard Plant in Downtown Detroit![]() ![]() Those Polka dots look familiar. This is a view looking West up Grand Blvd. Originally designed by the "Architect of Detroit" Albert Kahn, this factory covers 35 acres and opened in 1907. During it's peak, 40,000 people would work here in a single day as shifts ran 24 hours. There was a department store, 2 schools and a grocery store right in the compound. Although small parts of it are still rented out, the factory essentially closed in 1957 and has become one of Detroit most iconic ruins.
