Stanley Hong's Mannia Cafe - Detroit![]() ![]() This one was tough to research, thanks to Mikem of detroityes.com for coming thru on this one! Located at 265 Baltimore ( both the street sign and address have been removed ) at the opening of this restaurant it was stated to be "Detroit's most beautiful Chinese-American restaurant". I believe it opened in 1968. It later closed and became the Omega Baptist Church and then the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church. Personally I am having trouble picturing this sci-fi building as a Chapel....they merely stuck a small, white cross in middle of the "horn".
Commentsnewspapermann says:I don't think it was a church. I think it was
a former Chinese restaurant.. I think it was
called Stanley Lim's or something like that.
It was his second location. I cant recall
where the first was, but he didnt have such a
signature building.

It was a part of "Paradise Valley", it should be right around Hastings, I think? South of West Grand Blvd.? The last time I went by, it was a church.
