He Was There All Along, II

He Was There All Along, II by DerrickT.
After taking the photograph of my uncle in his coffin, I went across the room and sat down in the comfortable sofa that was sitting silently in another gathering area, where I kept my camera handy for further observations. After deciding that I wanted to use up the rest of the roll for the funeral, these two particular captures were taken while sitting on the sofa while an elderly woman sat a bit to my right, glaring off into the area as if she were being touched by a presence. Upon receiving these photographs back, I was intrigued to see that these two had a spiritual-anamoly aura about them. None of the other photographs came anywhere near having these white-fogged anamolies, which made it even more interesting and ghostly in relation to my uncle being right there all along...

whooo, spooky Derrick:))
i once caught weird orbs in my bedroom, they terrified me at the time. i enlarged them in photoshop to see if i could work them out, explain them as lens dust or whatever, but nothing came of it,,,i'll never know.

this is also a marvelous photograph (not seen other yet)...the haziness just adds to it; i like the sense of space that results from your viewpoint, and the lamp glow, and the sillouhettes of the figures near the coffin.

hope you're doing ok, though...in relation to the funeral etc.

Very interesting series, I've not seen anything quite like this. Hard to make a comment...you wonder what is appropriate to say?

THe "Out with a smile" picture almost made ME smile, just cause he DID look kind of pleased.

These other 2 are a bit spooky, but also fascinating...You wonder if he was lingering there...

If he was thinking, "Oh there's Derrick with the camera, let's give him something to shoot..."

Hope you are well.

Just amazing.
I can't explain what touched me more, the photography or the narrative of the event.
My condolences on your lost, I hope you are doing well.

Thank you, thank you all for the comments! I am doing quite well --- it is almost more satisfactory knowing he is no longer suffering. It's a pleasant relief in one way...

Paulinski: Thanks for the comments, my friend. But, the strange thing about it is...

there was no treatment here whatsoever! This is what makes it so bizarre --- the fact that I made no enhancements, treatments, or touch-ups. The white anamoly on each of these were there when I received the photographs back from the lab. This is why I was so awe-strucken by the image and how it appears as though he was actually there...

I think it's a very hard thing to do, take pictures in situations like this. And you did a nice job.

i love how certain photographs warrant a variety of movement and shipwrecks where treasure can be found all over the place as a textual overflow!

"just because you feel it, doesn't mean it's there..."

thanks to you all, as always, for the comments! appreciation galore. appreciation before (and after)...

There is no one quite like you, or even any little bit like you. These are amazing because of how not-creepy they seem to me. Fine work.
