This photo is peaceful, restful, calm and still but at the same time none of those at all.

      Classic.

Beautiful and an excellent image. I have lived in S Korea and it is a wonderful country. At the time when I was a child I lived in Chinhae at the US Naval station there, and went to school in Seoul. This brings back memories. Thanks for sharing. (4 Aces)

great. I like the DoF on this, but i think a little bit closer and more focus on the lady would make it perfect...

The Korean symbols in the background make the image.

I knew i liked korean girls for a reason. they are deadly :P. If you are ever in Insa-dong, seoul, there is a knife store; its down one of the side allies and it just says "갈" you can find Korean swords there very cool place.

    14. Derekwin (70 months ago | reply)

I will have to look into that thanks 36th

    15. Gihun (70 months ago | reply)

Wow very nice portrait. I think '36th' knows about korea swords and blades well. We call one side swords as "칼[kal] " and both size blade as "도[do]".

oops, sorry about the spelling, might have sent you to the wrong place. :P

it's 칼 like Mr. Chang said. it's tiny writing couldn't see. take some pics if you go.

      you're welcome

I found this info in an article in the JoongAng Daily.

the place's address is "Knife Gallery (02-735-4431/2) and Eogoemdang (02-733-4452) in the Kyung-In Museum in the Insa-dong area."

here's the link to the article: joongangdaily.joins.com/200504/03/20050403184 221110990009...

//36th I read above article. Maybe I think our ancestors considers document is not a impotartant job than importance of real skill. and.. 일본 나쁜놈들..

    19. mr.gibbs (70 months ago | reply)

not quite sure what you mean gihun. what do you mean by Japanese badguys?

    20. Gihun (70 months ago | reply)

When Korea was under Japanese colonial period, japanese goverment prohibited and plundered many cultural properties. Maybe I have a guily conscience(자격지심?), but I think We lost many precious things cause of them. It is originally caused by us who don't have much power to resist them maybe.....

Wov. Great shot. Very well cropped and the blurred background supports the the image well. That lady is concentrating!
