Trainline.com Error message

    Newer Older

Seeing Jeremy's twitter about the crappy experience of trying to buy train tickets online I was reminded of this screen shot I snagged last year at d.construct.

The error message reads: "Sorry: Unfortunately access to this resource has been denied, which could be due to a number of reasons"

    Gee, thanks :)

What this error means to tech support: "We know the reason.. we're not going to tell you regardless" (I've seen Coldfusion errors with as much ambiguity as the trainline.com)

Of all the websites I have to use, this ones the worst. Appalling from start to finish. They probably spent a few million quid on it too!

Derek: These sites obviously don't care about customers do they with crap like this...do they?!

I have Vista with IE7 and keep seeing this whether I go through thetrainline.com or OneRailway or First Great Western. They all seem to use the same system at the back end. I also have XP/IE6 on a virtual PC - this works fine. Just found a work around that works on Vista. Install Firefox 2 (www.firefox.com) - now booking via thetrainline.com works ok.
