These are "impression posts" or
"transfer abutments" meaning we're
about to take an impression w/ very accurate
material, pour very hard and accurate stone
in the impression and build the crown OUTSIDE
of the mouth...in the lab.
this way, the crown on the model is exactly
on the implant that's integrated in the
patients jaw bones and when delivered will
fit. although, this patient got more than
crowns on the bottom: actually, we made a
sub-structure that was fastened to the
implants and on top of that, a partial
denture "clipped" on (b/c the
patient was missing more than teeth...

Ben - who covers the costs of a treatment
like that ? I don't ness. mean the surgery
(was it tumour or trauma ?) but the
supastructure.
Where I live, in Germany, there are few
people who could afford a piece of work like
that even if they were insured !!

BEN! Please tell me you are helping someone
through Donated Dental Services (DDS). They
pay for ALL the lab work, and 3I, Straumann
and Nobel Biocare donate all the implant
materials.

I replied to your email. this is from Charity
Hospital. I worked a lot of patients from our
local DDS into the hospital while chief
resident and continue...mainly their patients
that need special care or GA.

Well, from my years working in the Louisiana
State Prison system, they either finish the
work you started or ripped them out of his
mouth for fear he pull them out to try to use
them as some sort of weapon against the staff
or other inmates.
