This stretch of curvy road connects the village of Gills Rock, Wisconsin with the Washington Island Ferry dock at Newport -It is only about 2 miles long, but is unquestionably the most photographed road in Door County. I have been attempting to get an acceptable shot of this piece of Highway 42 for many years. I took this one on a cloudy day just after a constant rain. I like the affect of the wet road winding its way through the autumn colors. We just returned home today from our fall visit to our lake house in Gills Rock. The weather wasn't the best but the fall colors were incredible. Take a peek in LARGE for the best detail and color. View On Black
