As you have probably gathered I have basically been in flickr 'semi-retirement' of late, due to the lack of photo taking opportunities in Hull and the fact that I forgot to bring my camera home over Christmas. I returned from uni on Wednesday after my exams, and thought it would be rude not to head out the next day and make the most of the recent 'decker resurgence' we have seen in Warrington.
This time last year my stream was filled with complaints that deckers were confined to school services 99% of the time, however earlier in the year WBT invested in three geriatric ex london Central ALX400 bodiedB7s for use on services which become busy at peak hours and school kicking out time. The trio proved popular, and as a result a further two were purchased, along side two newer Gemini bodied B7s for use on services to Leigh, a route which for years I have been saying needed deckers on!
191 entered service on the 3rd January, partially liveried and operating the 28(A). It was planned that 192 (pictured) would enter service on the same day, however various mechanical issues have meant it has mainly been confined to the odd school or relief service. WBT have been given the opportunity to purchase a third- which looks likely after Dublin Limpalong 178 was decapitated last week just down the road from where this was taken.
192 is pictured here in Massey Brook, just after passing beneath the M6 motorway on the 42 school service from Lymm High School to Appleton Thorn. I had been hoping to get a picture of 166, which has been recalled following the afore mentioned accident. It didn't show, however 192 made a welcome surprise instead.
