St. Louis, MO. November 2008. Sorry about the ridiculous lack of quality but I only have the point and shoot to take video with at the moment and I forgot the tripod.

I have made a (slightly) better version of this for anyone who is interested. See my videos set.

I was sad to learn this morning that the neon sign at the old Colonial Cleaners has been removed. The building has been for sale for a long time so I don't know if someone bought it or if they just decided they needed to get rid of the sign to make it more attractive to potential buyers who didn't happen to be in the dry cleaning business.

Also Phil's BBQ on Gravois has been removed though the business still seemed to be in operation. Maybe it's closing soon, I didn't have time to find out. Lots of good stuff is going extinct lately.

Thanks for the updates. I didn't know the Colonial sign. I can't believe the Phil's sign is gone. Maybe they are refurbishing it?

Hi folks, Dennis, neat video, thanks for the effort.
The Colonial Cleaners sign is safe. The owner wanted it gone to clean up the building for future tenants. We only had two weeks notice to handle removing the sign or the owner was going to have it taken down and garbaged. It needed to be removed by Nov. 1st, which was cutting it tight, we got'r done tho :-)

That's good news. I will miss seeing it though. There also used to be another sign across the street that said, "Cars Wanted."

I have just learned the Phil's sign was hit by a drunk driver and knocked over. Fortunately the sign has minimal damage. It has been aquired by the Antique Warehouse, a collector in St. Louis.

Well another mystery solved. Too bad they did that makeover a few years ago. I liked the original version myself.

Any idea what happened to the Arby's sign on Lindell? I saw someone hauling it away in pieces on a trailer one day on my way to work. I was hoping it might end up at the City Museum.

Originally the Stumble Inn, Do you have a picture of the sign from that time?
No knowledge of the Arby's, will do some investigating........
I should ask, how long ago did you see that? It's been a couple years since that place burned.
