Oh,~~ WOW!!!~~ This is a gorgeous bird! This image almost literally jumped out at me when I opened the screen for photos from my contacts! I have never seen one like this before... It's actually wild there ?? (Looks like it is perched on an electrical wire outside a house - yours?) I would LOVE to see one... Is this one of the parrot family birds that is captured for pet sales? I would imagine it would be hard for poacher-types not to - it's so beautiful...

@spikeblacklab, yes he was performing on the wires leading into my house, as you guessed it is illegal to capture or sell these birds, but of course, there are illegal poachers.

I got into parrots in a big way when I was in Australia, if it's possible to "get into" parrots. Very charismatic and distinctive birds. A lot of them high up in more open woodland near the Crosscut Saw.
