wallies wallies. soles are worn. purchased on sale, on a wednesday, (afternoon), rainy, white sky, pre-writing-workshop, spring 08. was that girl with a bag of shoes in class. said very little that day. squishy soles which slip on the smooth clay of astor place. walked to UBC in these once. make me feel taller and think of wu tang clan. "Follow me, Wu-Tang gotta be/The best thing since stocks in Clark Wallabees"

I bought these the night Allison and I got Henry. Restless and excited. I did not wear these on the trip to the King's stop in Brooklyn, out near Brighton Beach, to wait for Correy to pull up in an awkward sedan with puppy and mama in the back. Orange line. B train? Sunset, nervous dog, cradled in Al's arms. Riding back on the rattling train and walking along Delancey for a while, nightfall.

purchased at winners, fall 2004? forty bucks. that gummy rubber sole also used in other similarly soccer-esque classics, such as adidas sambas. and lots of other shoes. but, that gummy sole. I wore these to work this summer, because the tomato seeds that fly everywhere don't stain or stick to them, and they look real good with my dirty red apron.
