Candy Land - Candyland

    Newer Older

I glued countless thousands of seed beads to a 1978 edition of the Candy Land game board. I estimate the total to be 100,000 beads. Each land presented challenges and opportunities in the use of novelty materials. I used polymers, crushed amber, buttons, q tips, pipe cleaners, foam, charms, wooden beads, shells and baubles, etc. Completed 2006. Featured in Dec. 2006 issue of Bead and Button Magazine. 26" x 26". NFS
The complete piece and the details of each land can be accessed via the attached links

And people think that my work is detailed! This is way, WAY over the top. Peggy, you must have the patience of a saint! This, of course, reminds me of the work of Liza Lou, the Goddess of Beaded Art. You are a great disciple. The Candy Land piece is a wonderful and clever work of art.
