Frozen Waterfalls

Frozen Waterfalls

Here is a shot I took yesterday while out shooting some frozen waterfalls. In this photo you can see some of the water flowing behind the and over the ice. Just to give you a idea of the temps.... it was about -2 degrees with a 5-10 mph wind. DAMN it was cold and windy, but hey you got to get out when you can.

Have a great week all....

The old Church

The old Church

This is a single shot cropped square. I have been wanting to shoot this old chuch for a long time now. I decided last weeeknd when I was driving down the road and saw the church, I knew it was the day I was going to shoot it. I had been waiting for the right kind of clouds to be overhead and the right lighting on church and most of all i wanted little traffic on the road because you have to stand in the median. I decided for my first shot of the church I wanted it to be moody and no leaves on the trees. I have shot this church with all the fall colors but it really never came out the way I wanted.

Have a great weekend All!!

Stars at night

Stars at night

This was taken about 6:45pm on Saturday night while driving home. I took this shot as a little test of a few ideas i had and wanted to try for capturing night images without my sensor over heating. I shot this using my 12-60mm F2.8. This was the second image I shot from that location. I happen to notice the clouds moving in the same direction as the path was leading so I readjusted my comp to be more straight on with the path and reshot it. This image is made from just one single 40" exposure, there was no filters used of blending of images in CS5, I did do some minor color correction though.

The only lighting used to light the foreground and distant mountains was the Just about FULL moon.
