iPhone focused to 0.25" on iPhone back panel

iPhone focused to 0.25" on iPhone back panel by eastrain.
About as close as I was willing to set it for the time being.. when i was done, dialed it out a little so i could take better shots of miniature items..

Nope- your iPhone doesn't hate you. The camera in has its focus glued pretty far away. if you break the glue on the camera, you can dial it to whatever focus you want, then reassemble. The same camera unit type is on the 3g, so it should be doable.

But I dont want to break it, and I just got my 3G like 2 days ago. Dammit.

I'm still torn weither or not I want to Jailbreak my 3G. Especially since it needs 2.1 for the damn thing to work right. Battery life is garbage, and 3G reception is slightly better with 2.0.2, but its still pretty crappy.

PwnageTool has been awesometastic for me... been working fine since the original retail firmware..

the most recent firmware has had a bit bad battery life, but its nto too bad...

I did the mod on the 1stgen.. might try on the 3g soon...

If they come out with pwnage tool for the latest 3G firmware, I'll probably do it. As far as my old iPhone, I'm gonna hack the shot out of it tomorrow, and use it as a fancy iPod. I had my old one jailbroken previously, I just got tired of the hassle involved with keeping it unlocked.

I'm even typing this comment on my damn phone. LOL

Very impressive. Found this through Gizmodo. You're famous!

I must say that the quality of the photo is fantastic. Amazing what a little modification can do.

no mod necessary. Just the magnifying glass from a swiss army knife.

I wish I didn't have to crack open the case to do this... Imagine a little dial on the side to turn focus....

why use a magnifying glass when you can use the bottom of a coke bottle!
