M:PT - May 27

Top: Ann Taylor
Necklace: Macy's clearance rack

How do we feel about the necklace overlapping the neckline here? I am dubious, but I went with it anyway. I would have felt more comfortable with a v-neck, but maybe this is okay?
Pants: NY & Co.

Because you've never seen these before!
Suede/patent leather moccasins: Gap
My hair is already choppy and flippy from the humidity. Why did I even bother?

Trying out the teal/brown combination again! Please ignore the fact that my teal accents are exactly the same as before. Also, I doubt that I could have taken a wonkier picture.

I LOVE how the necklace compliments the shoes. And I think it is a perfect color combo with the pants/top. The overlapping looks great.

I think the necklace is perfect. My feeling is that as long as it's not hitting you at the same place as your neckline -- so it's either clearly above or clearly below -- it's A-Okay.

another teal and brown combo :)
i am loving the necklace and think it looks fine with that neckline. like sangria lover said, as long as they're not hitting the same place it's good to go in my book.

p.s. the word "wonkier" made me giggle out loud

Ditto the above comments about the neckline/necklace dilemma.

Also, I'm just going to throw my personal preference out there - I prefer when the *shape* of the necklace and the *shape* of the neckline are different as well - like if a necklace is a pendant and makes too much of a v shape from the weight of the pendant on the chain, then I steer clear of wearing it with v-neck tees. Same with really round necklaces and identically round necklines. But maybe that's just me? Your example here is great - one wide circle (neck of shirt) one long oval (necklace). That looks really good to me!

I love the overlapping neckline. I'd never be able to articulate it, but I really agree with what trigger said. Two different shapes looks really cool.

Of course, the color combo here is spectacular.

I have the same fear of necklace/neckline overlap, but it does look great here! Way to branch out for M:PT.
