The Cover Story
I always wanted to see a photo of mine on the cover a poplular publication, and if it happened, I never would I have dreamed it would be a photo of my newly disabled son...
For those wondering why I'm not around, well, here is the full story.
artvoice.com/issues/v11n4/life_of_uncertainty
I've just checked my messages here and for those of you who knew the situation and were kind enough to send some encouraging words, I thank you so much, it means a lot. I do miss you guys. Things are very difficult now and the coming months will be even more challenging... once the big home adjustment is made I hope to take a break and do some "normal" things. It's amazing what we take for granted every day and don't even realize it... before you get out of bed and think how shitty your life is or how crappy other things may be, be grateful that you can even get out of bed and get on your own two feet in the first place. Something as senseless as this could easily happen to you or someone you love.

Metal for Tony Lorenzo / 2-Day Benefit
On October 26, 2011, my son Tony Lorenzo was the victim of a violent crime. He sustained a horrible gunshot wound which left him paralyzed from the chest down. The bullet lodged in his spinal cord and also broke his collar bone, damaging the nerves in his right arm, limiting the use of his hand as well. He has been hospitalized ever since and is battling severe complications and will undergo months of painful rehabilitation. He will hopefully regain full use of his right arm, so that he may eventually play guitar again...
Tony is a prominent local musician and recognized within the worldwide metal community. His peers have organized a fantastic historic 2-day concert benefit at Club Infinity in Buffalo, NY happening on January 7-8, 2012. Collector's items and signed merch from bands and record labels around the globe have been donated for raffles and auctions at the show. This will help our family out immensely, as we face a huge financial burden with his recovery and renovations to our home to make it handicap accessible.
I'm reaching out to my Flickr friends for your support as well. I obviously haven't been on here much and will not be for some time but any donation will not go without sincere thanks and appreciation. PayPal donations can be sent to "helpingtony@gmail.com". To anyone who has already donated, we can't thank you enough.
This is a very sad and unfortunate event that not only changes the victim's life in an instant, but their whole family's life as well. I am truly devastated, heartbroken, and still in shock. But with the support of his friends and fans, family, and community support, Tony will hopefully gain the physical and mental strength he needs to begin life in a different body....
Thanks for reading and I wish everyone a good New Year. Be safe.
-Dee
