NMRA NTS 2005 |
The National Model Railroad Association
(NMRA) National Train Show (NTS) for
2005 was held in Cincinnati Ohio.
Usually the NMRA NTS includes only
recognized scale train gages such as G,
O, HO, N, and Z gauge. This year they
welcomed Lego Guage! Twelve Lego Train
Clubs under the auspices of the
International Lego Train Club
Organization (ILTCO) put up the largest
Lego train display in the world (50 x 70
feet). About 75 AFOLs (Adult Fans Of
Lego) participated in the show. There
were at least 25 trains running at the
same time.
I brought about 9 buildings to the show as a member of the Michigan Lego Train Club. One of these buildings, the Fisher Building (Detroit Michigan), just happened to be a few inches taller than Paul Jansen's Rhodes State Office Tower (Columbus, Ohio) and thus was the tallest Lego skyscraper at the show.
I have been to the 2006 and 2007 NMRA NTS as well but this one was special because it was the first.
