Anyone know why my black royal icing did this? It's all the same batch. Never had it happen before.
I can't find who it was but someone suggested doing this when they saw the snowman cookies that I copied from chiccookiekits. I couldn't resist but now I'm annoyed because of the icing.

Don't know if you will see this, but I love these and want to make them. Is the head fondant and is the hat edible? It almost looks plastic.

The hat is chocolate and the head is fondant.

Thanks, I did them today using chocolate clay for both. Your hat is much nicer!

I'm pretty sure it's grease seeping through the cookies. If you let the cookies rest for a day or a few hours it might prevent it from happening. Its also happened to me when my icing was too thin, the grease seeped through quite a bit.
