I saw this moment at the staging area for the children's parade for Seattle's Chinese New Year celebration. Some of the parents commented that they had been at this spot along a sidewalk in the International District for a long time waiting the parade to begin.

lunar new year lanterns

My friend Larry Larsen and I went to Seattle's International District yesterday for the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration. The cold and overcast day dampened the crowds somewhat but not the spirit of occasion.
