I am going to have to show this to my 6th graders... we recently read a story about JESSE OWENS at the 1936 OLYMPICS... in... BERLIN, GERMANY. Wow.

    "jpettitt says:

    OK now that is funny"

I would like to know what's so funny about a blatant human rights violation

  19. Ce nest pas un JB. (50 months ago | reply)

How is a strong piece of irony a human rights violation?

  20. jeffrey.hulett (50 months ago | reply)

That is funny... some people just don't think about what they are doing or saying... for instance look at 'Im The Darkcyde'.

    Great Capture dead-ro.

  21. illtillwillkillbill (50 months ago | reply)

This is not really funny. It's fucking sad.

  22. schmoe345 (50 months ago | reply)

Nice photo editting and delicious irony.

  23. Just some dust (50 months ago | reply)

Maybe by "we", they mean the literal we, as in people these days, as opposed to people in 1936.

    Or maybe they're just twits.

  24. .Trev [deleted] (50 months ago | reply)

Yeah, I hope it was irony. Or, just fact-check your protest posters on wikipedia or something. Otherwise you'll just look like an asshole.

  25. Tassajara25 (50 months ago | reply)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I just fell off my chair laughing - and now I'm crying.

  26. leenerella (50 months ago | reply)

The bits at the top of the sign are a small set of Tibetan Prayer Flags...

  27. tom_p (50 months ago | reply)

    yes, this was in 1936

  28. dgt0011 (50 months ago | reply)

excellent capture - and you must have really cranked your shutter speed up nice & fast - the camera shake from all the giggling must've been a right b***ard ...... :-)

yeah this guy complete failed history. i believe 1936 olympics were hosted at nazi germany where usa beat germany with two afro guys in the track and field where the fuhrer himself was present. best moment in sports ever...

  30. Zinzinzinnia (50 months ago | reply)

Oh, history. What would we do without you? Oh, right... create signs like these. Nevermind.

  31. lynch_m_j (50 months ago | reply)

Would we let morons parade in the streets? Yes, yes we would.

Come On People.... We are trying to make a point.

    ;)

  33. dead-ro (50 months ago | reply)

Since the things on the sign are tibetian prayer flags, I have to say this was for real. If it was money, then it would be irony.

    ouch.

That is one of the best things I've seen in a long time. When will protesters educate themselves?!

  35. kirichiri (49 months ago | reply)

    OMG. Now *that* is priceless.

  36. LordBru (46 months ago | reply)

i really had to take a double check on this. I don't know what this says about me but I honestly believe that individual doesn't know.
The lack of history in our protesters' minds is scary. i believe this is why so many are thinking socialist ideas are good these days, most of our college students weren't alive to witness the cold war. And it's not being taught to them. I doubt many know about how 6,000,000 was a mere fraction compared to stalin's "accomplishments".

  37. kirichiri (35 months ago | reply)

Me thinks someone has fascism, socialism and communism mixed up. *rolls eyes*

Yeah, socialism is terrible. Just look at places like Canada and Sweden and the UK, where their residents don't lose everything they have and have to file for bankruptcy if they become seriously ill.

No one thinks for themselves. So many here are nothing but chattel, and this picture and many of the comments here prove that.
