UUP 2007 |
Another year in the life of the
Unitarian Universalists of Petaluma!
On January 7, we celebrated our five
year anniversary of our first meeting in
January 2002 in a living room with eight
adults and six children. To celebrate,
we had a cake and a photo on our front
steps.
A new member ceremony and annual
auction took place on May 6--five new
members joined UUP, and we raised nearly
$3,000!
On May 20, we had a Maypole dance and
potluck after the service, at the home
of Steve and Carol West.
The weekend of May 25-28 found UUP
members on our annual Memorial Day
Retreat at Four Springs Retreat Center
in Lake County.
On the weekend of June 30-July1, we
were honored to host UU poet Ric Masten
for a Saturday poetry reading and as our
guest speaker for Sunday worship.
In August, we held our first annual
garage sale fundraiser--it was a lot of
fun and a great success!
On September 16, we held our annual
"Water and Stones" ingathering
service, during which people brough
stones and water from their travels, or
from home, if they didn't travel, and
reconnected.
We had our annual Halloween Party in
October--some good pictures of that!
We welcomed our new consulting weekend
minister, Rev. Ben Kocs-Meyers, on
November 11. A big step for UUP!
Our annual Winter Solstice service
combined the traditional drum circle and
the kids' Santa Lucia celebration.
UUP's Christmas service was led by our
consulting minister, the Rev. Ben
Kocs-Meyers. A brass quartet accompanied
the enthusiastic caroling.
