157/365 - Croatia day 9: Embrasure

The Croatia trip, Day 9

A view through an embrasure (arrow slit), in the thick and ancient walls of "the smallest city in the world" -- Hum, in the Istrian Peninsula.

This photo was taken on Sunday, when we had the full day off for a tour into the Istrian Peninsula. We saw not only the ancient fortified city, but also another fortified city, Roč. We also had a delicious multi-course (and multi-wine) lunch at a local tavern which caters to the many tourists in the area.
