I've lived in Austin for 17 years but, until last week, had never taken a walk up the hill next to Lake Austin to shoot a picture of the Pennybacker Bridge. Just about everyone here has a great sunset shot taken from exactly this position and I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, though, I couldn't decide what kind of different to try.
Last Tuesday morning, however, we had a dense fog advisory so I thought I would take a chance and head up there to see if I could catch an interesting shot. My hope was that the fog level would be low enough that the bridge would be sticking out the top of the fog layer but, unfortunately, that wasn't the case during the 45 minutes or so I waited so I had to put up with a shot of the bridge disappearing into the mist instead. Maybe next time I'll get the shot I was looking for originally but, for now, here's my take on a different Pennybacker Bridge shot.
