Glasgow Landmarks
This is my attempt to cram as many Glasgow landmarks into a single image as possible. I reckon I got the Squinty Bridge, the Finnieston Crane, the University Tower, the Govan shipyard cranes, the Science Center Tower and the Armadillo. Can anyone see anything else (I didn't count the Crowne Plaza Hotel as a landmark).

Rotating Tower, Glasgow Science Centre
Yes, I know, this is an extremely over-photographed subject. I already have at least one photo of it in my stream but this year I couldn't pass up another attempt since I had a tripod on me when I was there and the skies were just too good to resist.

Wildflower Center, Austin
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower is only a few miles from our house and, as members, we visit pretty frequently. It's a great place to go for an hour or so to take pictures of flowers (obviously) and also of the wonderful stone buildings that make up the main complex. The archways in this shot can be found at the entrance to the main "quadrangle" by the auditorium.

Blue Dasher Dragonfly
I spent a couple of hours this morning giving my 9 year old son a photography lesson at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. While there, I also got a chance to grab a few pictures of the dragonflies that were patrolling one of the ponds. This image was taken using flash and I will definitely be doing more of this in future since the depth of field is so much better when I can stop way down to f22 as in this case

Burns Cottage, Alloway
2009 is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, Scotland's most famous poet. Burns was born in the town of Alloway near Ayr and there are several tourist sites there devoted to him (as you would expect). His birthplace, now known as Burns Cottage sits on one of the main southbound roads through Alloway and looks somewhat out of place amongst the newer (1800s) stone homes that surround it.
