The Space Shuttle Endeavour Over Golden Gate Bridge

Newer Older

I was at Hawk Hill to see the Space Shuttle flies over the Golden Gate Bridge. The spot wasn't perfect because I was face the bright sunlight and with some fog over the right hand side. This is the best shot I can take :) Once in a life time chance.

I couldn't see it that close from where I work (downtown SF), but this photo really made me kicking myself not to take a day off and camp out in a better location to shoot this historical event! BRAVO to you!

BTW, I do think this is a pretty good location: not only you have the GGB, you also have downtown SF in your background... the almost-silhouette image of the shuttle, the cloud and fog only add more drama to the shot... nothing short of extraordinary.

I woke up 4:00am in that day :)). and I was the first one drove up to the Hawk Hill parking lot with my friends. the lighting was bad from Hawk Hill, yes, the space shuttle is silhouette .. the light is from behind of it. you may see the shadow of the bridge tower and the water reflection of the bright sunlight. I can't do much about it. I seen there many nice shots from SF side with the bridge in better lighting :).. once in a life time event.
