Courtney
here is a shoot (Leibovitz inspiration) that has been on my mind for quite a while now; it started as an idea for a self-portrait for my website, and in the end, we (my friend Kurtis - another photographer - along with me) decided it would be best if we had an actual model there.
i purchased 15 8"x8"x16" cinder blocks for the foundation, and two 4'x4'x3/4" plywood planks for the floor.

strobist info: Profoto D1 shot through 5' octobox camera right, and a Profoto AcuteB camera left shot through a reflector, on real low power just to bring up the shadows on that side of her face.
shot with nikon d700, and nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 @ f/5.6, 1/60, and ISO 160.
