I'm just wading into ASP.NET 2.0 with C# from the good folks at Wrox. :-/

Hey Greg! I was going to ask you about this sometime. I remember you were doing some stuff with Ajax last year, but thought you were mostly doing php. We should probably talk sometime

I'm seriously deep in this stuff right now at work. I'll probably switch my personal hosting provider from linux to Windows soon, so I can leverage my work and personal coding for maximum photography time :-)

Haven't dabbled with .net yet!
Still lost in the world of Javascript, ASP and PHP!
I haven't really done an awful lot of web side programming, being more from the C / C++ school.
I was quite impressed with a trial version of Adobe Flex I dabbled with recently though...

ian, I did a lof of C and C++ before being engulfed by Java the past 10 years. C# is a nice language, actually. Very similar to C and Java. If you want to check out some really cool stuff, check out silverlight.net/default.aspx. Everything is written in C#, but you don't have to haggle with all the scripting and tags in the HTML. Kind of like an applet and can run either full browser or as a window inside a browser.

Nice graphics engines, too. Will be a competitor to Flash, for sure. Pretty awesome stuff.

I'll definitely have a look at Silverlight. It seems to work with the same principle as Adobe AIR - being both browser and application based.

At work our main product is written in Borland C++, and allows uploads of data / reports to the internet. I'm currently looking for a tool / environment that will allow us to write tools to access this data and present it in a similar fashion to our main product, but using a browser.

I'm a great believer in using the right tools for the job, but getting them all to integrate is a big pain!
