Something of a crazy photoshoot for the cover of this issue of RozRazil magazine, involving the former first lady of the Czech Republic and one of the first ladies of Czech theater Dagmar Havlova and some makeshift rain. Shot in the dark basement of the Vinohrady theater in Prague in May of last year with director Vladimir Moravek and a few actors to help out with the rain bit -- somewhat stressful (only had about 20 minutes to do the whole thing) but great fun! Now if only I could get paid to do this kind of stuff!

(approximate) strobist info: two hotlights on the ground lighting up the back wall (with sparks flying all over with all the rain and stuff) + two CTO gelled 430 ex IIs, one bare and about six feet off the ground at camera left, one about 12 feet off the ground with a lumiquest softbox at camera right (angled down towards subjects); speedlights (probably both on 1/2 or full power) triggered optically by 580 ex II on camera which also provided a bit of on-axis fill i think (hard to recall, sorry!)

This is one of those snapshots you only get one shot at -- if you're lucky.
If I had not had a camera practically glued to my face all of the time, I'm pretty sure I would not have caught this: the only batch of confetti being fired in the general direction of the oh-so-fresh newlyweds just leaving the wedding ceremony!

impromptu walkaround photoshoot in prague the other day -- this bit is from a railway bridge over the vltava river. must come to grips with wide angle shots outdoors, really don't know how to handle them yet. also this is the first pic i'm posting made with my new body (my 40D is in a terrible state of disrepair and so had to go buy a 7D) -- anyway, that's about it i guess -- moral: watch out for trains, they tend to come outta nowhere!
