Day 3 of my trip was aimed at reclaiming American Basin, last year I spent some time here and felt like I didn't come away with any great images, this year proved to be equally frustrating. This is the only decent image from the day, I'm going to blame it on my allergies being insanely bad here.
As I was leaving here I heard a loud clunking coming from the suspension of the 4runner and I had just left American Basin, which is a long rough ride back to Silverton. I had no choice but to limp it back very slowly and hope it wasn't too severe. I managed to make it back to town and further inspection revealed one of my rear shocks was blown. It was late so I drove it gently to the only place I could easily get to at Little Molas Lake.
