Dubai Knowledge Village
Several people have asked to see something straight out of the camera at a higher ISO from the Fuji X100s. This file is untouched.
Shown is Dubai Knowledge Village, where I was teaching last week for Gulf Photo Plus. ¼ second at f/2.5 (the camera's metadata recorded it as f/2.8 -1/3 stop) at ISO 800.
This is hand-held, and really with no special skills. As with the classic rangefinder after which it was modeled, the mirrorless X100s introduces no vibration as you shoot. Thus is is easy to hand-hold to very low shutter speeds.
Combine this with great high ISO performance and an f/2 lens that is sharp wide open, and you get a camera which will allow you to easily explore the margins of light—and do so all but unnoticed.
