Alienbees PLM Review
Heres an example of the catchlight produced by the PLM system. I'm shooting with a B800 at 16th power with it approx 4ft away. Also note, I have the umbrella shaft aimed away from the subject (meaning much of the light is missing my subject). The control allowed with the PLM is incredible... notice the background is hardly receiving any light! The only fill source is the white shirt my son is wearing... and its reflectign light under the chin area - hence the white underlining at the bottom left. No post processing has been done to this image! Only the eye crop has been obviously enlarged (but not sharpened.)

Here at Smash Photo Studio in Long Beach, CA the 7ft plm with an Alienbee B800 are large enough and controlled enough to replace the use of a softbox! Yes I said that!
