Fools Rush In, (1952) by Philip C. Curtis
![]() Here is another painting from the Phoenix Art Museum by surrealist, Philip C. Curtis.
I enjoyed this painting and look forward to studying it a bit to try and figure out what Curtis is trying to say. The next photograph is also from Philip C. Curtis and has some links for you to enjoy learning a little more about him. Commentshappysweetmama

Hmmm.....is that Nero and Napoleon in the bottom right? Who is the guy with the staff in the red jammies? How about the mummy looking guy?
Circus themes are prevalent in Curtis's work. Notice the guy on the bicycle? The desert generally shows up in his work as well. Seems to be desert mountains in the background. Wonder what the flowers are for? The sky looks like Van Gogh. What are the angels doing with their hands? Telling people to slow down?
Evidently Philip C. Curtis never explained his works but left them up to the individuals imagination.
