There is still quite some debate within the scientific world on how to classify the suborders and infraordes within Squamata. Here I've joined the snakes and geckos together in one suborder (in a previous blog post I placed the snakes classically still in their own suborder).
Phylum: Chordata; Vertebrates / Gewervelden
Class: Reptilia; Reptiles / Reptielen
Order: Squamata; Scaled Reptiles / Schubreptielen
Suborder: Scleroglossa; Monitors, Geckos, Snakes, Skinks / Varanen, Gekko's, Slangen,
Skinken
Infraorder: Gekkota; Geckos, Blind Lizards, Legless Lizards / Gekko's, Blinde Hagedissen,
Slanghagedissen
Family: Geckonidae; Geckos / Gekko's
Subfamily: Gekkoninae;
Genus: Uroplatus; Leaf-tail or Leaf-tailed Geckos / Bladstaartgekko's
Species: Uroplatus fimbriatus; Giant Leaf-tail Gecko / Reuzenbladstaartgekko
