Plitvice Lakes Waterfall Detail 2

Plitvice Lakes Waterfall Detail 2

This is another example of the beautiful waterfalls in Plitvice Lakes National Park, following this one: www.flickr.com/photos/david_morse/6761455033/

If I were to post a picture of each waterfall, it would take years, there are so many.

Plitvička jezera, or Plitvice Lakes National Park, in Croatia, is a beautiful series of 16 lakes which cascade from one to another through a huge number of waterfalls. Travertine dams separate the lakes, the result of calcium carbonate which is dissolved from the limestone rock and reforms into natural dams that grow about 1cm/year. The dams and waterfalls are constantly moving.

The water is crystal clear with a bright blue hue. Really beautiful place.

Cassis By Night

Cassis By Night

We went down to the south of France to the little town of Cassis, about an hour east of Marseilles. This is a town that sees many French vacationers but few foreign tourists. The town is adorable, with many small restaurants and shops. We spent days lounging on the beach by day and eating, drinking and enjoying the lights by night. I would highly recommend it.

Mountain Fist Pump

Mountain Fist Pump

Taken just before www.flickr.com/photos/david_morse/6725208703/ , this shot came right as the climber reached the apex of the rock.

Seems worth celebrating to me.

First To The Top

First To The Top

These climbers left from the Aiguille du Midi station on Mont Blanc in the French Alps and climbed their way to this outcropping. The guide has made it to the top, and you can just see the other climbers in the lower right still working their way up.

That is a long drop...
