Blast-resistant trucks
|
Force Protection, a small firm based in
Ladson, S.C., hand builds
blast-resistant trucks for the U.S.,
British and Iraqi armies and the U.S.
Marine Corps. The Cougar is based on a
Ford truck; the Buffalo is a modified
Mack truck. The RG-31, built by General
Dynamics, performs similar missions. In
2005 these vehicles were folded in the
the "Mine-Resistant
Ambush-Protected" program (MRAP)
along with several other similar
designs.
