Tree in the back lane [2]

Tree in the back lane [2]

Another one from my trip to Lake Carrowmore in County Mayo. Taking just behind the house we were staying in at the time. I used an infra-red screw on filter on the lens [just in case you care].

Oh I just love these atmospheric infra-red shots. A simple scene can turn into something much more dream-like. This was taken in the laneway at the back of the very beautiful house we were staying in whilst on holiday in Carrowmore Lake in north County Mayo.

Mayo beach large rocks with me

Mayo beach large rocks with me

I don't normally post pictures of myself up here but I kind of like this one. The photo was taken using a full minute exposure and I just sat in on the photo for about 30 seconds. Taken using an infra-red filter.

This one kind of reminds me of the surface of the moon, I'm not saying I've ever been to the moon mind you but its what I imagine it would possibly look like. This was taken in North Mayo somewhere between Barnatra and Belmullet. I am not sure of the exact name of the location but the nearest townland seems to be a place called Muings [correct me if I'm wrong please]. Anyway, this was taken using an infra-red filter.

Mask in Turlough House, Mayo

Mask in Turlough House, Mayo

This was taken downstairs in the truly wonderful Turlough House in County Mayo. The museum features all manner of exhibits regarding all forms of country life in Ireland. If you ever get a chance to visit it then I can't recommend it enough. It's not too far from Castlebar in Mayo. The grounds surrounding the museum and house are truly stunning too. As you can probably guess I'm rather fond of Turlough House, I should also mention the staff are so informative and helpful too.
