Rio Vista's abandoned Hearth and Home at Liberty housing development,
a project of
855 proposed upscale suburban homes that went bankrupt in 2008, sits as a
reminder of the Great Recession and it's impact on the American landscape.
Only a handful of the homes were built along a grid of streets that now sport waist-high
weeds and surveillance robots to curb vandalism.
