Thanks everyone for your comments, this is the California Street cable car Line, not the Hyde or Mason lines that most visitors to SF ride. The California Line is used mostly by locals going between the downtown Embarcadero and Van Ness. Photo was indeed inspired by Todd Walker's similar image, camera used for this shot was a Canon G9.

no way. yes. back again. i can't stop looking at it. its weird. too many people have bad brakes for a road to be this steep. and when you get too the top it looks like a nightmare, as if you just fall over the edge!
