nice dark carnival milky way

I was driving home from the races, and I looked up, and realized the sky was darker than I'd ever seen. so... even though it was late, I pulled off at the next exit and found a place to park. turned out to be a storage area for carnival equipment. I do have a knack for stumbling upon carnivals.

lots of mosquitoes. but I took a few shots with a few lenses.

this one is the 8mm fisheye. kinda neat. the glow in the foreground is from the cars on the highway, and the occasional building light, but man was it dark... makes me want to pursue some real good skies. -- this one, as I look it up, rates a '1' on the light pollution scale. there are some '0's within an hour of me.

it's really amazing the difference between the '2's around my house, and this '1'. '0's must be godlike. we'll see soon!

also of note: it's really fun to be able to use the fisheye and not have to worry too much about where it's pointing.

I'll post a few of the other shots I got at this location here as well.
