Black Bridge Crossing

Black Bridge Crossing

There was a rail crossing, just outside of Jackson, Minnesota for the trains to cross the Des Moines River. It was originally built in 1900-1901, and was torn down in 1982.

All that is left that reminds you that there was a crossing there are the pillars that held up the crossing.

Golf on the Lake

Golf on the Lake

That's right. The 5th Annual "Bear"ly Open golf tournament was held on the frozen ice of White Bear Lake.

Players had hockey sticks, golf clubs, la cross sticks and other items to use as clubs. The ball was a tennis ball. Holes were cut into the ice, and golf flags were placed in them for the golfers to use for aiming.

It was pretty cold and windy, but all of the people there were happy and in a great mood. All proceeds went to the White Bear Lake Emergency Food Shelf.

Night Time at the Guthrie Theatre

Night Time at the Guthrie Theatre

With living in Minnesota, shooting at night in the winter is usually something that you don't do, unless you have layers upon layers of clothes on. This year it has been warmer than usual; there is almost no snow on the ground.

So, since the holidays are over, it was nice to get some time out behind the camera again. The Guthrie Theatre is a great place to shoot; there are so many cool parts to the building, and that's just on the outside. The inside is also amazing, and they are very photographer friendly.

35W Bridge at Night

35W Bridge at Night

The 35W bridge crosses the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is actually the new bridge, as the old one collapsed in 2007, killing 13 people and injuring 145.

The new bridge cost $234 million dollars, and was completed sooner than expected.

It still is a bit eerie crossing the bridge, knowing that the old one did collapse and people did die when it did happen.

One of the cool features of the new bridge is that they can change the color of the lights that illuminate the bridge; for Gay Pride, they made it light up like a rainbow.

Flamed Chevy at the Frankensteiners' Ball

One of the many, many fantastic vehicles at the Frankensteiners' Ball at the Anoka County Fairgrounds in Anoka, Minnesota.

Shot on my Nikon N50 film camera, with a Nikon 28-70 f2.8 lens, loaded with Fuji Velvia 50 slide film.
