Getty Images? Anyone?

    Newer Older

Any of you ever been approached by Getty Images to use your photo? I saw this on an old photo I stumbled upon... it wasn't much of a photo, and yet...

    Some Flickr Info here www.flickr.com/help/gettyimages/

An old description here: www.flickr.com/photos/thomashawk/3151252119/ and update here: www.flickr.com/photos/thomashawk/2651226521/

Let me just say that many of your photos are outstanding and would make great stock images. Have you been approached?

I got an email from them 3 days ago about 11 photos, and frankly, I didn't quite understand what it was all about... and thus did not reply or enroll, whatever they expect...
Can you make things clearer maybe for Frenchy me????

      - Getty Images wants to offer your photos for sale. You sign a contract with them, and they will add your images to their portfolio of images for sale. When someone buys one of your images, you get money. If you check the links at the top, you'll see it is legitimate. Congrats, there are very few images chosen from Flickr for this. You may not ever make any money, but I think this is considered an honor.

      - Yours would be fabulous. You need to check iStockPhoto or something because your images would sell.
