Actually... while the figure is great and the effect of seeing his boots through the glass is well done... my engineer's eye tells me the beam needs work.
- It's about seven inches wide at his face, but a fraction of an inch wide where it passes through the hole in the glass. Even laser beams spread (slowly) rather narrow.
- Greater detail at the near point makes it look wide, which contradicts the idea that it's actually more focused. The detail should be at the face.
- It's coming from the back of his hand rather than from his visor. It took me a while to realize that the highest point came from a finger rather than from the forehead. Forehead or finger, it contradicts the text.
Maybe it's just me, but that's the kind of details I get distracted by. I hope you created the artwork in stages so you can go back and re-do the beam.
