In my dream

Another shot from March of '06.
Another finding from the archives

This capture was taken using the same technique utilized in my image " Reign of Fire "

An Orange HOYA filter was used to capture this dramatic landscape with a 1-stop GND and slight under-exposure. While, Reign of Fire, is an original capture with no post-processing, this one did go through minor adjustments to the contrast, and levels using Photoshop. I also slightly de-saturated the effect while processing the RAW image in Canon DPP software.

Wow. Great shot. I like the brilliance of the water and the texture of the clumps of grass in contrast with the sand.

Interesting method - very good to run a rather dry landscape into something more appealing.

fantastic work HD. We are doing well, hope you are too, Phil is retiring April 1st from MRG.

dcsuave: Thank you for your comment :) however, this is not an HDR image. This is a single exposure taken with a GND filter + Orange filter. The entire image was deliberately under exposed for effect.

Wimerriner: GREAT to hear from you ;) and wow!!!! big news abt Phil. best of luck to both of ya! miss you guys.

Golden amber landscape like a lion's mane: beautiful!

I also appreciate your comments on taking and processing your landscapes. It's funny that Pachelbel compared it to a lion's mane. I had similar thoughts about the bushes. You gave the shrubbery life and movement. somehow and what a moody sky!

Just amazing!!! The sense of depth, the lovely hue, the sharpness (of course, it's you!) and the stellar comp make for a memorable shot. Bravo my friend!

I have to ask: I've read a lot recently about color filters. They are popular with film b/w photogs obviously, but most I've read says that you can achieve the same results using photo filters in PS. I'm curious why you used a filter for this. I know GND can't be replaced with PS.

    Take care my friend!

    oh, and may I say:

    QUALITY !!!
