If Web 2.0 Applied to Real Life

If Web 2.0 Applied to Real Life by darthservo.
This is a photo demonstrating what life would be like, were "Web 2.0" to infiltrate the real world. Here I try to humorously highlight the use of tags - one of the features made possible by Web 2.0.

I'm not against the development of applications and services on the internet (I use Flickr). I just think some people get out of hand with it.

Great! Now if it only had rounded corners, bright colors and somehow reloaded itself with coffee...

Great! Even more funny as you didn't add the actual "flickr tags".

But needs a new name. jared-dot-com is unavailable, I suggest jarygg, a brand new glaring tag based social coffee-drinking.

Very funny, although I'm not sure tagging is all there is to Web2.0

Hi.

This is funny in a moronic, superficial way. Like it's funny because "lol if we had real tags they'd be sticky notes all over the place on obvious things, lol". It's like bum-fight-video-on-youtube funny. Stupid people funny. And either you don't "get it", or you're being intellectually dishonest -- selling out for a few cheap lols, trackbacks and maybe a BoingBoing. Lame. Tagging is part of a fascinating overall phenomenon. It's the emergence of meaning in lots and lots of stuff. It's something that can only happen on the Internet, almost passively, and with limitless scalability -- a hallmark of "collective consciousness". A first in the history of the world.

You suck. Thanks.

@sjon - I do, I'm married to her.

@-i_wish_you_could_talk - Originally I actually had the GFY Blog in mind when I photographed this. I quite enjoyed their writing style for a while, until they brought on three other writers and it went downhill from there. So I snapped it and sent it off to them, and they posted it on their blog.

But, you've stated the obvious - people post things in hopes for hits. This is not a new development, even with the advent of the miraculous web 7.3.

Glad you have an opinion, though - there's too many in the world who don't. In the meantime, you may want to work on not taking life that seriously.
