There was a popular mountain biking route shown here in Serre Chevalier Valleé. This photo is looking back to the direction we walked from, with the path leading around the left side of Le Rocher Blanc (the tallest point in the photo).
Fortunatly for them, despite there were some uphill areas where the bikers got off and walked, there were cable cars that returned to the top of the mountain where the starting point was.

Well, it's not exactly Le Rocher Blanc. This photo was taken just next to it about 200m lower at about 2370m. The larger path here is for walkers and vehicles and the smaller path that zig-zags across the slope is for mountain bikes. (I'll upload a picture of that soon).
The building in the top right is the Serre Chevalier cable car station that leads back down to Briancon.

This was taken at the top of Prorel (2556m). We took a small cable car up from Briançon to Pra Long (1624m) and then after enjoying the views, we rode a second set of chair lifts to the start of the walk, which was at 2360m. We strolled along for about half an hour until we reached the summit. The views were amazing all around - shon above is just one portion of it.

This photo was taken in Briançon which is supposed to be the highest (large) town in Europe! 2,540m (8330ft) at its highest point. This part of the town was very old and had large fortified walls surronding it.
I noticed a cat and approached it slowly. It retreated behind these doors. So I lent down to take a couple pictures, until it hissed loudly at me! I decided it was time to leave at this point.

Another Alpine insect I found. It looked very strange but I was able to get very close without it hopping away!
