Gold Trail

Gold Trail

Victorian Goldfields
Historic Gold Mine circa 1900’s

Visited another mine on Sunday near Ballarat in Victorias Gold Fields I was lucky enough to have a couple of hours alone in the Tunnels to try out some new ideas with shooting long exposures in the dark.
This tunnel was deep in the forest with excess via a GPS system while making our own path to the site as no tracks are visible these days.
We passed many other old mines on the way most with vertical shaft entries dropping upto 30 meters to a solid rock bottom, an area not to be taken lightly.

Its been a great adventure so far I hope to go again soon to capure some more of Australia’s forgotten history.

Emu

Emu

The Emu is Australia's largest native bird, and the second largest bird in the world. The Ostrich is the largest bird in the world, inhabiting Africa and parts of Asia. The word Emu comes from the Portuguese word ‘ema' which means large bird. The Emu grows to be about 185 centimetres (6 feet) tall and weighs 65 kilograms (140 pounds). This is bigger than many adult humans!
