- A5 moleskine. I wrote the novel across three notebooks: a paperblank 'world atlas' hardback thingy, a ruled 'skine pocket, and this one. So I'm nearing the end.
- Post-it tag thingy to mark my place. I'm still using the back of the 'skine for journalling/doodling/noting, so I couldn't use the integral cloth bookmark
- Lamy Safari
- Cap for my USB key
- PC I mostly use as a bridge between the Alphasmart and the Mac, and for oldskool gaming (Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Alpha Centauri, all tht jazz)
- External speakers I connect to my iPod for ambient music when I need to drown out any noise.
- Coffee! Just some instant, I like the smell of coffee when I work.
- Lamp for when I write at night
- Index cards with DIYPlanner.com plotpack templates. This one's a character card about my main character
- My hipster PDA in it's 'dock'.
- Alphasmart 2000. Cheap and cheerful word processor that does the typing job wonderfully. Also incredibly portable, ridiculous battery life (I'm two-thirds of the way typing the novel and haven't had to change the batteries yet), and ridiculously durable.
Where All The Magic Happens

This is very inspiring. At the end of the day, writing is just that, writing, not needing anything fancy. Thanks for sharing.
