Jimages Digital: M17 is about 5000 light years away, that means about 50,000,000 billions kms ... and actually it is a quite near diffuse nebula! LOL

--Steve--: thanks a lot! Actually you can observe M17 with just good binoculars and a dark sky (today the main problem ...) in the summer nights.
