My First Printed Photos![]() Two photos were printed in today's amNewYork, on page 4, accompanying a story about the Pandamonium event/protest on Saturday night.
According to Wikipedia, the average daily circulation of amNewYork is 311,500 (as of 2005), and amNewYork advertises as the largest circulation in manhattan. The photos were also used in a blog post on the amNewYork site, as well as by Gothamist. No, I didn't get paid for my photos. I publish most of my photos under a Creative Commons license in the hope of this very kind of thing happening. I'm sure I'll get a bunch of flak from other photographers arguing that I'm "devaluing the art" and all that nonsense, but the fact of the matter is, the satisfaction I get out of seeing my name and work in print is enough for me right now. Photography has always been a hobby for me, and I doubt it will ever go any further than being a small side job, but I'm ok with that. Commentsalexlinsker says:Congratulations! (I tried to think of a pun
with "panda" in it, but wasn't able
to.)
